Walt Disney Theatre

ABOUT

The grandest of theatre halls on the seven seas. The Walt Disney Theatre on all the 4 ships are Art Deco and Art Nouveau masterpieces, styled like the old luxurious movie houses left behind in the past. This beautiful exterior packs a lot of punch on the inside though, and performances are always sure to please.

My Review

This is one of my favorite places on this ship. I know that when I step in here, no matter the chaos around me with all the children, I'll have a great time. Not only is the space just beautiful, but the plays that are held here always wow me.

I have a deep love and appreciation for theatre. While never an actress myself (I was a techie), I've always loved seeing a story come to life. Now, Disney does that on a whole 'nother scale. I am always in absolute awe by the amount of detailed work in every set, prop, and costume. Even after seeing almost all the performances on these ships a few times, I never get sick of them— much to the disdain of my family, who groan when I want to see them again every cruise!

Are they a must-see? Some more than others. You cannot go wrong with the classic musicals, like Aladdin, Tangled, or Frozen. Some believe the more original works like Disney Dreams and Disney's Believe are a little cheesy, but I secretly like things like that. It brings the childlike imagination back to me, but maybe I'm just nostalgic like that.

Overall, I would very much recommend seeing at least one performance while on a cruise!
