The Disney Wonder

The Westerner

The Magic's sister ship. The Wonder is the second-most exploratory ship of the fleet. Spanning over several regions and countries, the Wonder sails its way from Florida, to Central America, and all the way up to Alaska.

My Review

The Disney Wonder is a great ship, but not my favorite ship. I was very disappointed when the coral-like chandelier in the atrium was replaced with.... a giant piece of red hard candy. I must prefer all the extravagance in the hanging chandeliers in the Dream and Fantasy. Admittedly, the chandelier is very pretty, but I don't think it fits well with the space around it.

What makes a ship a great experience isn't the atrium, though. The last time I was on the Wonder was in 2015, and I while I left happy, I was wowed by the Magic in 2016, so it really put it into perspective. The Wonder just always feels like its missing something. Maybe the fact that it's the only ship without an Aquaduck or Aquadunk, I don't know. Maybe it's the constant hit-or-miss menu items in what was once Parrot Cay, I'm not sure.

Granted, I haven't been on it in a long time. I haven't experienced Tiana's Place. I haven't seen the Crown & Fin Pub. I haven't watched the Frozen performance in the Walt Disney Theatre. Though, these seem like big pluses, so I am very hopeful that my next visit on the Wonder will be amazing with all these new upgrades!
